Charlie Kaijo earned his M.A. in mass communications and journalism in December 2014, focusing on documentary photography at California State University, Northridge. In January 2012, he participated in The New York Times Student Journalism institute in Tucson, Ariz. In May 2016, he was selected as a Chips Quinn Scholar. In addition, he worked as a beat reporter for New America Media and a Pulliam Fellow at The Arizona Republic. He completed a one-year internship at the Tampa Bay Times and is currently working as a full-time staff photojournalist at the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
